My map is not loading properly and the screen remains blacked out?

Downloading or unlocking a map can occasionally cause loading issues in the app. If this error occurs, the map will not load correctly, and the map screen will remain blacked out.

If your map screen is not loading correctly, follow these steps:

  1. Open the KOMPASS app.
  2. Select “Map” in the menu bar.
  3. Tap the “three-dot button” and select “Download  this area” or “Download”
  4. Zoom in slightly on the map to reduce the download size (the size or location of the map is not relevant to fixing the problem).
  5. Tap “Download”
  6. Give the map a name and select “Download” again.
  7. Close the app and restart it. The map screen should now be displayed correctly.
